Who we are

MOTTO: Empowerment for Self-Reliance

RUWOYSI was founded in 2001 by a group of rural women and youth led by late Mrs. Veronica Garba, in response to the poverty, drug abuse, unwanted adolescent pregnancy and disease burden facing rural communities in northern Nigeria. Today we are a registered civil society organisation (CAC/IT/No. 47431) working across Kaduna, Lagos and Benue States.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

  • Train, sensitise, educate and empower vulnerable people on their social, health, environmental and economic rights.
  • Care for motherless babies, orphans, widows and less-privileged youth through direct support and shelter.
  • Build resilient households through economic empowerment, education and health protection.
